The company El Casco was founded by Juan Solozabal Mendive and Juan Olave Bilbao in 1920 and initially specialized at the revolvers production. But after the 1929 crisis, the company’s management decided to replace the production of weapons for the production of stationery items, which were manufactured on the same equipment.

The machine for numbering and putting the date became the first product of a new direction, and the first stapler was released in 1934.
