This BE@RBRICK is an official tribute to one of the most famous masterpieces of world art – the painting “Girl with a Pearl Earring” (1665) by Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer. Work on the figure was carried out in collaboration with the Royal Picture Gallery Mauritshuis in The Hague on the occasion of the museum’s 200th anniversary.
The design is fully covered with a reproduction of the canvas, creating the effect of a living sculpture. The girl’s face is harmoniously placed on the figure’s torso, and the back is complemented by the inscription “Vermeer” in stylized typography.
